Fact certification for cellular therapy

5/5 - (4 votes)

The laboratory and blood bank of the Hematology Service of the University Hospital UANL is the only center accredited by FACT in Latin America for the harvesting and processing of cells, ensuring that it exceeds standards in patient care and laboratory practices.

Founded in 1996, FACT establishes standards for high-quality medical and laboratory practice in cellular therapies. FACT is a nonprofit corporation co-founded by the International Society of Cell Therapy (ISCT) and the American Society of Blood and Marrow Transplants (ASBMT).

WHAT FACT MEANS FOR PATIENTS AND THEIR FAMILY MEMBERS

Patients with leukemia, lymphoma or other life-threatening illness or other blood disorders need the most effective care to improve and prolong their lives. The FACT accreditation is the threshold for excellence in cell therapy, including bone marrow or umbilical cord blood (BMT) transplantation.

Organizations accredited by FACT seek and voluntarily maintain FACT accreditation through a rigorous process, demonstrating their belief that patient needs are paramount. Receiving care from a cell therapy organization within the prestigious community of organizations accredited by FACT means being sure that the patient is in good hands.
